The dataset "Incunabula watermarks printed in the Netherlands" (WILC) provides access to more than 16,000 book watermarks printed in the Netherlands (now Holland and Belgium) between 1450 and 1501 (incunabula). The WILC box contains 16,071 watermarked illustrations from 2,229 incunabula prints, of which 14,300 have been preserved worldwide (several plus one copies). The set includes book watermarks from libraries, archives and museums around the world.

The strength of the set is the large number of images, all with detailed descriptive metadata. The addition of four geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude of the production and storage locations) allows the set to be used in different ways. Koninklijke Bibliotheek (KB) in the Netherlands provides this as open data - there is a CC0 license for metadata and objects (watermark images).

Access via SRU and OAI-PMH protocols..
